Tourniquets:

Not Just for Action Movies Anymore

Cartoon of Richmond CPR instructor Dave applying a tourniquet, with “Tourniquets to the Rescue” in bold.

Bleeding that won’t stop? Time to channel your inner action hero. Tourniquets aren’t just for Rambo—they’re legit life-saving tools in any first aid kit.

The rule: tight enough to stop blood, not feelings. Wrap above the wound, crank it like you’re starting a lawn mower, and mark the time. If you’re worried about doing it wrong, don’t be—doing something is almost always better than nothing when blood’s involved.

We’ll teach you how to handle bleeds, bites, burns, and basically anything else that leaks, squirts, or swells.
